National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula has urged residents of the Nyanza region to rally behind President William Ruto’s broad-based government.
Speaking in Alego Usonga, Siaya County, during the burial of former Cabinet Minister Peter Castro Oloo Aringo, Wetang’ula said the broad-based government has led to the current political stability in the country.
Wetang’ula stressed the need for peace and unity as essential drivers of development.
“It is only through peace and unity that development can be achieved,” he said.
Wetang’ula also assured Azimio la Umoja supporters of the government’s support for Raila Odinga’s African Union Commission chairmanship bid.
“The government is committed to supporting Azimio leader Raila Odinga for the African Union Commission chairmanship. Raila’s bid for the continental top seat is not just for the good of Kenya but for the EAC region and Africa at large,” he stated.
