National Under 17 ladies football team coach Mildred Cheche has unveiled a provisional squad of 51 players ahead of next month’s World Cup qualifier against Uganda.
The squad includes a number of players who featured at last year’s World Cup in Dominican Republic, such as midfielder Halima Imbachi and goalkeeper Velma Auma.
The Junior Starlets will begin their training camp this week, with friendly matches lined up to ensure the team is well-prepared for the Uganda test.
Uganda, having already played in the first round of the qualifiers, will come into the match with an advantage in terms of match fitness.
The Kenyan Juniors will be aiming to advance past Uganda and set up a decisive clash against Cameroon for a ticket to the Under 17 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
The tie will be contested over two legs, with the first match scheduled between 7th and 9th of next month and the return leg set for 14th to 16th of March.
