The fourth edition of the Mobile App Awards, which honours innovation and distinction in the mobile technology sector, was conducted in Nairobi, Kenya.
Renowned marketing strategist and psychologist Erick Wilson Wafula was honoured with the Leadership Excellence Award in App Strategy during the occasion, which acknowledged his vision and efforts to advance inclusivity in technology.
Speaking upon his victory, Wafula underlined the significance of creating technological solutions that assist the “underserved” populations of neurodivergent users and individuals with impairments.
“Mobile app developers and other tech developers should develop solutions that take into consideration neurodivergent users and people with disabilities,” Wafula said.
He emphasised that these groups are frequently disregarded at every stage of the app development process, from design and ideation to go-to-market planning.
“In actuality, this specific group is typically not a primary user factor taken into account when an app is being deployed.”Wafula concluded
