Starlets target to finish campaign on a high despite faltering start

The national women’s U20 soccer team Junior Starlets will be out to wind up their FIFA u20 Women’s World Cup on a winning note when they face Mexico  in their final group match on Thursday.

The match is scheduled to kick off at 2AM East Africa Time at Felix Sanchez Stadium,Santa Domingo, Dominican Republic.

Kenya  will be seeking to bounce back from their opening two defeats after falling 0-2 to England and 0-3 to North Korea.

‘’The past games teams were tough but we are going to tougher against Mexico so that we at least get the three points even though we diod not get the results we wanted’’, forward Valerie Nekesa stated with her striking partner Marion Serenge adding ‘’ We are going to give it all It the only match that we have and I woukld assure Kenyans that we are not going to disappoint them and we are not going to finish at the bottom’’.

Kenya debuted at the Championship in this year’s edition alongside hosts Dominican Republic, Ecuador and Poland.

After two rounds North Korea, two time winners lead the group with six points while England is placed second on goal difference.Mexico and Kenya occupy third and fourth slots respectively with no point.
