A field of 112 will take part in the second edition of Ruiru Open scheduled June 14th-16th at the par 73- Ruiru Golf Course.
The championship has attracted some of the Country’s top amateurs including a talentred field of female golfers.
The ladies line up is headlined by talented Joyce Wanjiru, Bianca Ngecu , Briana Ngecu, Diana Mbuba, Kelly Gachaga, Esther Chumo and Sandra Kagana from Burundi
The winner is set to walk away with Ksh.150,000 from the half a million prize kitty.
Defending champion Adel Balala will not be defending his title after opting out of the competition. Another notable absentee will be Mike Karanga, currently away in Ireland for the Amateur Championship scheduled from the 17th to the 22nd of June 2024.
The spotlight will be however cast on Kiambu Golf Club’s Elvis Muigua,the top ranked Kenya Amateur Golf Championship player is top of the rankings with 356.1 points.
The championship supported by NCBA has attracted participants from hosts Kenya as well as Burundi, Rwanda, and Uganda.
Chris Kinuthia, Tournament Director and Vice Chairman of the Kenya Golf Union expressed gratitude towards NCBA for their steadfast support in nurturing golf talent across the country.

The championship will also act as a World Amateur Golf Ranking,WAGR,event where winners will get points on the Kenya Amateur Golf Championship.
