President William Ruto is attending the Africa Heads of State Energy Summit in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

The summit, which ends Wednesday, is hosted by the Tanzanian government, the African Union, the African Development Bank Group, and the World Bank.

It brings together governments, private sector leaders, development partners, and civil society to discuss ways to accelerate energy access across Africa, with the ambitious goal of providing electricity to 300 million people by 2030, also known as Mission 300.

Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga is also attending as he seeks to rally African heads of state behind his bid for African Union Commission (AUC) Chairmanship.
