Preparations are in top gear for the handover of Mathare-Korogocho Mama Margaret Kenyatta Level 5 Hospital to Nairobi County Government.
Plans are also in motion to convert the facility into a general hospital to alleviate patient burden at Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital.
The decision followed a meeting involving Health Cabinet Secretary Susan Nakhumicha, Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja and KNH CEO Dr Evanson Kamuri alongside other stakeholders.
The CS urged the County Governor to uphold the hospital’s standards, emphasizing its importance as a referral facility.
The hospital is poised to offer a range of medical services, including renal dialysis, radiology, and tuberculosis management.
