Afro-Indie and soul singer Njerae will release her EP, ‘Four Letter Word’ on Valentine’s day.
Njerae shared that the release perfectly syncs with the month of love, giving her fans songs to include in their playlists as they celebrate love.
‘Four Letter Word’ comes shortly after Njerae was named among Apple Music’s Africa Rising stars class of 2025 to represent Kenya and East Africa.
In this EP, Njerae explores the human love experience as a whole.
The EP has four tracks:-
-“Fight for you” (produced by Wondamagik),
-“Beg for it” (produced by Kobby Worldwide),
-“Decide” (produced by Vic West) and
-“Hypnotize” (produced by Kobby Worldwide).
She released “Beg for it” on January 17th, as a teaser to what to expect in the EP, and it peaked at #36 on Apple Music Top 100 Kenya.
“Beg for it” has become a favorite Kenyan sing-along song, with fans seamlessly jamming to it in different event spaces where Njerae has performed it.
This has become a norm as Njerae’s music continues to resonate with many.
Her music explores the emotions that one has when they are in love with someone else.
“I wanted to create a body of work that not only talked about intimate love, but also the whole experience , from love, lust, obsession and social interactions,”she says.
Njerae says that sonically, she experimented so much in previous years when she worked on her earlier body of works that there is a stark difference between her 2024 EP ‘Out with the Old’ and ‘Four letter word.’
“In this project, I am going back to my roots, writing songs that are following my original style.
“This music is a fusion of what I have learned experimenting over the years working with different artists and producers with my original style,” she continues.
The EP is Njerae’s first body of work in 2025, from which her single “Beg for it” was born.
The “Aki Sioni” hit-maker has teased the music video for “Beg for it” set to release on Friday along with the EP with an expected lineup of other projects and live performances throughout the year.
