NCA renews Maurice Akech contract for final term

Maurice Akech will serve a final term of three years as the National Construction Authority (NCA) Executive Director and Registrar of Contractors.

This follows his reappointment by NCA board to the position which has taken from September 27, 2023.

Prior to his appointment in September 2019, Akech served the authority as general manager for research, business
development and capacity building.

“The construction industry is an enabler for Vision 2030 and the Government’s Bottom-up Economic Transformative Agenda (BETA) with a key focus on affordable housing among other pillars. Eng. Maurice Akech has proven his passion for the development of the construction industry and his reappointment will entrench the Authority’s contribution to the country’s economic development,” said NCA.

Akech is credited for spearheading collaborations and
partnerships among key industry players and among others, reviewing the Code of Conduct for the construction industry, developing the draft Construction Industry Policy and developing the draft National Building Regulations (Building Code, 2023).
