Kenyan Alex Matata is the winner of this year’s edition of the Ras Al Khaimah half marathon held today in the United Arab Emirates.
Matata stopped the clock in 59 minutes and 20 seconds to emerge victorious, followed by Ethiopian Gemechu Dida in 59:20, 1 second ahead of Kenyan Isaia Lasoi, who completed the podium positions.
Judy Kemboi of Kenya finished 2nd in the women’s race in 1 hour 6 minutes and 34 seconds, followed by her compatriot Jesca Chelangat in 1:06.53.
The race was won by Ejgayehu Taye of Ethiopia, who clocked 1:05.52 hrs.
