KQ staff detained in DRC released

Two Kenya Airways staff who were detained by military authorities in Kinshasa, DRC, have been released.

In a statement KQ CEO Allan Kilavuka confirmed that the two were detained since 19th April 2024 were unconditionally released and reiterated their innocence.

“We want to reiterate that our employees are innocent and were only carrying out their duties in strict adherence to the laid-out procedures. We stand by their innocence and will continue to support them,” he said.

Kilavuka thanked the Government led by Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs Musalia Mudavadi, KQ colleagues for working tirelessly to secure their release.
