Former African champions KCB and Prisons Kenya have joined compatriots Kenya Pipeline in the quarterfinals of the ongoing African Women’s volleyball club championship in Cairo Egypt after winning their respective round of 16 matches.
The Bankers defeated Asec Mimosa of Cote d’Ivoire by three straight sets while Prisons Kenya saw off Nigeria Customs by a similar margin.
KCB made their intentions clear from the onset easily bagging the first set 25-6, followed by a 25-18 win in the second set.
The bankers dominated the third set, registering a comfortable 25-13 win to confirm a spot in the last eight.
In another round of 16 match, Prisons Kenya trounced Nigeria Customs by three straight sets to also advance to the quarterfinals.
KCB and Prisons Kenya joined compatriots Kenya Pipeline who got a direct qualification from the group matches to the quarterfinals after missing an opponent in the round of 16.
