First Lady distributes food to over 1000 households in Kibra

First Lady, Mama Rachel Ruto Wednesday distributed food to over 1,000 households in Kibra Constituency affected by the ongoing floods.

In a statement on X she said the natural calamities that have ravaged parts of the nation place a disproportionate burden on the most vulnerable members of society, particularly women and children.

The food donation exercise was a collaborative effort between the Office of the First Lady, the National Government, and the Chandaria Foundation.

She further reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to providing food, clothing, and shelter to Kenyans affected by floods.

The First Lady was accompanied by Peninah Malonza, Cabinet Secretary for the Ministry of EAC, Arid and Semi-Arid Lands, and Regional Development; Njoroge Muchiri, Deputy Governor of Nairobi County; Esther Passaris, Women Representative, Nairobi County; and  Davidson Ngibuini, MCA,Woodley Kenyatta Golf Course ward.

Mama Rachel Ruto also urged Kenyans to be compassionate to their fellow Kenyans who may be affected by the ongoing, extensive rains and flooding.
