Police in Busia are actively pursuing two suspected drug traffickers who evaded capture on Wednesday, leaving behind seven sacks of refined bhang valued at approximately Ksh 13 million.

During routine patrols in the early hours at Ratike area along the Busia-Kisumu road, officers discovered the narcotics haul abandoned by the roadside. The suspects presumably fled upon spotting the police.

An inspection of the nearby thickets revealed signs of disturbed vegetation, indicating that individuals were hiding and monitoring police movements, ready to retrieve the contraband if possible.

The officers secured the area and awaited a police vehicle, which transported the 451kg haul to Busia Police Station for booking.

With the evidence secured, the police have intensified their efforts to apprehend the elusive suspects.
