World leaders arrive in Baku for COP29

World leaders have started arriving in Baku, Azerbaijan for the official opening of the 29th edition of the Conference of Parties (COP29).

More than 60 thousand people from across the globe are attending the meeting which is taking place at the Baku Olympic stadium.

The World Leaders Climate Action Summit, which is the highest-level event of COP29, will take place later this week where Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi is expected to address the meeting.

Monday, UAE formally handed the COP Presidency over to Azerbaijan with the symbolic exchange of the gavel.

Dr. Sultan Al Jaber extended support to COP29 President, Mukhtar Babayev, and urged Parties to show the world that they have the determination to unite, the responsibility to act, and the will to deliver.
