World Athletics President Sebastien Coe reaffirmed the federation’s support for Kenya in the fight against doping and age cheating.
Speaking at Athletics Kenya yesterday, Coe clarified that Kenya will remain classified in category A of countries that are closely monitored by the Athletes Integrity Unit, owing to its large number of athletes competing in international championships.
Coe added that all age cheating cases being investigated by Athletics Kenya will equally be punished as doping once the names of the offenders are forwarded to World Athletics.
Athletics Kenya President Rtd. LT. Gen. Jackson Tuwei emphasised the federation’s commitment to completely eradicate age cheating.
Meanwhile Coe is confident of being elected as the next International Olympic Committee President in the elections set for 16th of this Month.
During his one-day visit to Kenya, World Athletics boss also met with President William Ruto at Nairobi State House as well as the Sports Cabinet Secretary Salim Mvurya.
