Most parts of the country will experience reduced rainfall over the next five days, according to the Kenya Meteorological Department.

In its forecast for April 1 to April 5, the department indicates that rainfall will persist but with a significant decrease in both intensity and coverage.

The Highlands West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin and the Rift Valley regions will experience intermittent showers and thunderstorms, particularly in the afternoons and evenings while maximum temperatures are expected to range between 30°C and 32°C.

In contrast, North-western Kenya, covering Turkana and Samburu, will remain mostly dry with sunny intervals throughout the period. Daytime temperatures will peak at 38°C, while minimum temperatures will drop to as low as 9°C in some areas.

The Highlands East of the Rift Valley, including Nairobi, Kiambu, and Nyeri, will have cool mornings transitioning to sunny intervals with afternoon and night showers expected in some areas.

In the North-eastern counties such as Garissa, Mandera, and Wajir, sporadic showers will occur mainly in the mornings and afternoons, with temperatures soaring to 39°C.

The South-eastern lowlands, covering Machakos, Kitui, and Makueni, will experience warm conditions with occasional showers, while the Coastal region will see scattered showers, particularly from midweek.
