Abdi, a village elder, with a reflective observation, reminisced his youth saying that back then opportunities were scarce, and the road to education was fraught with obstacles which included poor infrastructure, discouraging attitudes, and the weight of circumstances that kept many from realizing their full potential.

But with a voice full of hope, he advised the present generation not to let history repeat itself. Unlike in his youth, doors now stood open. Education has become a transformative force, capable of turning lives around. He called on them to seize this moment, to embrace learning, and to channel their energy into sports, not just as a pastime, but as a shield against bad company and the lure of drugs. He was hopeful that the current generation with their optimism, will help to lift others.

An NCTC representative addressed the attendees, emphasizing the crucial role of community vigilance in maintaining security:

“The peace we enjoy in Wajir is not just because of presence of security services here, but largely due to the community’s involvement, collaboration and cooperation. Let’s maintain our perpetual vigilance, be active citizens and always report any suspicious activity intended to disrupt our security and hinder development and progress.”
