Kenyan hip-hop group Wakadinali emerged as the frontrunners in Spotify’s Wrapped 2023, solidifying their status as arguably the best rap group in the country.
Comprising Scar, Domani, and Sewer Sydaa, the trio not only claimed the title of the only Kenyan artists on Spotify’s Top Streams list in Kenya, but also soared as the most searched artists in the country. Wakadinali’s album, “Ndani ya Cockpit 3,” secured a notable 10th position as the most streamed album.
In September, data from Spotify revealed that Wakadinali had surpassed heavyweights like Octopizzo, Khaligraph Jones, and Nyashinski, securing the fifth spot in the most streamed hip-hop artists in Kenya.
With an impressive fan base of over 100,000 monthly listeners, Wakadinali’s tracks “Mc MCA” and “Geri Inegi” boast over 1 million streams each.
As Spotify remains a worldwide hub for music exploration, Kenyan talent like Wakadinali, are undoubtedly making an enduring impact on the global stage.
