The Visa Oshwal religious community has donated a supply of one month of assorted food commodities to St. John’s High School Kangii in Machakos County.
The donation worth Ksh 350,000 was handed over to the board of director chairman, Dr. Benjamin Musau, at the Nairobi Visa Oshwal religious community centre in Westlands.
Bindi Shah, the Visa Oshwal religious centre chairperson, said the donation, which included rice, maize, beans, cooking oil, and sugar.
While receiving the donation, Dr. Benjamin Musau, hailed the philanthropic gesture, which he termed will help in attaining food security for the school and ensure the realisation of uninterrupted learning.
At the same time, the religious community donated 600 packets of food hampers worth ksh 800,000 to the banditry- and drought-hit Mukutani community in Baringo County.
The donation worth of Ksh 1.1 million is part of the Shree Visa Oshwal community’s corporate social responsibility and service to humanity.
