The United States (US) Embassy in Kenya has issued a security alert.

In a statement published on its official website on Friday, the Embassy warned that terrorists could be targeting high traffic areas frequented by foreigners and tourists in Nairobi and elsewhere in the country.

“Locations frequented by U.S. citizens and other foreigners and tourists in Nairobi and elsewhere in Kenya continue to be attractive targets to terrorists planning to conduct potentially imminent attacks,”

The Embassy further cautioned that terrorist groups could be targeting hotels, embassies, restaurants, malls and markets.
