Uasin Gishu Governor Dr. Jonathan Bii Chelilim on Monday flagged off a medical supplies consignment valued at Ksh. 54,460,920 from the Kenya Medical Services Authority (KEMSA) for distribution across 138 healthcare facilities in the county.
Speaking during the event at the Uasin County Referral Hospital, the governor urged residents to seek medical attention at their nearest healthcare facility whenever they feel unwell, noting that the necessary drugs are now available in these facilities.
Governor Bii emphasized the importance of the supplies in enhancing healthcare as the county begins the new year.
He reiterated his administration’s commitment to improving and completing the construction of health facilities across all sub-counties, aiming to bring quality healthcare closer to residents.
The county boss acknowledged the vital role of partnerships with agencies like KEMSA in strengthening the county’s healthcare system and ensuring equitable access to medical services.
He was accompanied by his deputy, Evans Kapkea, and other senior county officials.
