Three dropped as Malkia Strikers heads to Philippines  for the FIVB Challenger series

Three players have been dropped from the national women’s volleyball team,Malkia strikers, that is scheduled to leave tonight for the FIVB Women Volleyball Challenger cup in the Phillipines.

Outside hitter Miriam Musa, libero Delphine Misoke and opposite player Mercy Iminza were axed from the 16 member squad that will take part in the forthcoming Challenger series as well as the Olympic games due next month in paris.

Kenya is set to face Puerto Rico in the quarters on Thuirsday in their opening Challenger match scheduled Thursday 4th July. The Challenger Cup is set for July 4-7.

Kenya is under the guidance of head coach Japhet Munala and will be assisted by Josp Barasa while former international Janet Wanja is the teams trainer.

Paul Bitok is the technical director while Ismail Chege is the team manager.

Malkia Strikers will be captained by Trizah Atuka and will be deputized by Edith Wisa

After the challenger series Malkia Strikers is expected to head to Miramas,France for extensive training before heading to Paris for the Olympic games where they will face Brazil,Poland and Japan in group B.

The Paris Olympic Games is scheduled July 24th-August 11th.
