Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) students took to the streets Friday to protest the mysterious death of their colleague Denzel Omondi.

The third-year student was among thousands of protesters who stormed Parliament during the Finance Bill protests on June 25 but went missing only for his body to be discovered floating 10 days later at Mashimoni quarry, Juja.

The students blocked a section of Thika Road as they marched to the Juja police station to demand justice for their fallen comrade.

At the peak of the demos, the student shared a video of himself inside Parliament.

His family and human rights groups have dismissed a post-mortem report revealing the cause of death to be drowning. They insist he was murdered.

Amnesty International Kenya and other human rights organizations have demanded a thorough investigation into Omondi’s death.
