Strathmore Leo crowned 2024 Embu 7s champions

Strathmore Leos are the 2024 Embu7s champions, making it three years in a row. They defended the title after securing a 19-5 win over Catholic Monks in the final clash.

Kabete Stallions settled for a bronze medal after beating Rugby On The Road winning 19-12 while hosts Embu Dragons beat AP warriors 22-0 to win Plate trophy.

Head Coach for Strathmore leo Willis Ojal noted that it was not easy to defend the cup noting of defensive errors that he seeks to adress in the next games of the circuit.

KRU Director Moses Mukabane urged counties to create more sporting stadiums to nurture great talents within the Counties.

Chair Embu Rugby club Abija Bosire noted that they had to shift the tournament venue from the Usual ASK Njukiri grounds owing to the poor surface.

Embu Drgaons coach Benson Mwenda noted that the hosts have improved and was optimistic of the good results in the coming games in the circuit.

The organisers further noted that the tournament had a low turnout due to the venue change noting that ASK Njukiri is best placed to host the games.

Two teams pulled at the last minute with 16 teams participating unlike in 2023 when 22teams participated.
