Stakeholders call for speedy resolve of impasse,want election date announced

Football stakeholders are calling for concerted efforts to unlock the administration impasse in the country.

The stakeholders led by Extreme Sports CEO Hussein Mohammed urged for prudence so as to resolve the matter and allow the holding of impending national football elections later this year.

Kenya risked sanctions from the world football governing body if the impasse persists the stakeholders warned.

An annual General Meeting, AGM which was scheduled to set the dates for the national elections was halted following an injuction from a court of law.

They hailed the recent move by the National Olympic committee of Kenya, NOC-K to convene a consultative forum bringing together several football administators and stakeholders with an aim of unlocking the impasse.
Kenya together with Tanzania and Uganda won the bid to host 2027 Africa Cup of Nations and preparations for hosting of the biennial championship has began in earnest with Kenya launching the construction of Talanta City Sports Stadium in March.
