Bird Eye View of the Agadir stadium in Morocco

Located 5 kilometers away from Agadir city in Morocco,grande stade De Agadir is one of the more than 6 venues in the North Africa’s bid to host the Africa Cup of Nations  for the 1st time in 2025.

The venue surrounded by hills in Agadir , the stadium was built to camouflage the hilly vicinity of the environment ,dry land and  conspicuous from its unique design which is a blend of brown and white  color. 

According to the organizing committee led by the Royal Moroccan federation, the venue strategically located  from city centre and accessed by good road network and they believe it will give a good scenery to fans and all tourist visiting the country ,should they secure hosting rights for the biannual tournament.

Stade Grande De Agadir is used by the local team Hassania Agadir, which participates in the Moroccon Botola Pro  the top tier local football league.

The venue has a  46,000 seating  capacity  with state of the art changing rooms and media commentary booths  which can hold upto 40 personnel and well maintained grass playing turf.

Despite winning the Africa nations championships CHAN in 2018 and bagging all continental club trophies last year besides playing host to  now three FIFA Club world Cup tournament ,CAF has never given Morocco the green light to stage the Africa Cup of nations finals.

However from CAF’s initial inspection report there’s all indication of Morocco’s bid   edging other countries which has placed their bids .

CAF stripped Guinea the rights to host the championships which has now attracted  interests from  Algeria, Morocco, Zambia and Nigeria and  Benin . 

Media reports indicate  that undoubtedly, Morocco have demonstrated that they are capable of hosting the tournament as they boast of stadiums with over 45,000 seating capacity in Tangier, Rabat, Casablanca, Marrakech and Agadir cities  . 

The Mohammed VI Football Complex exemplifies as one of the best football centres in the world while Morocco’s impressive rail and road networks could be an added advantage.
