Krish Shah and Maryam Mwakitawa victorious as Nairobi Junior Golf Series Concludes at Muthaiga

Krish Shah and Maryam Mwakitawa emerged winners in the Boys and Girls aged 15-18 years during the final leg of the Nairobi Golf Junior series at Muthaiga Golf Club.
The 8-leg tour,supported by NCBA Bank in partnership with US Kids Golf and Kenya Junior Golf foundation, began in November 2022, and aimed at promoting junior golf in Kenya.
In the Boys 15-18 year old category, Krish Shah emerged victorious with 80 gross points, followed by Kevin Anyien with 85.
Junaid Manji was the winner in the 13-14 year old boys category, scoring 71 gross points, and Shashwat Harish came in second with 78 gross.
Yuvraj Rajput won the 12 year old boys category with 85 gross points, and Mwathi Gicheru was the champion among the 11 year olds with 76 gross.
In other boys categories, Palash Tank was the winner among the 10 year olds with 40 strokes, while Adam Nesbitt earned bragging rights among the 9 year olds with 39 strokes. Jeff Kibe, Ivan Kimutai, and Trevvy Mungai were the winners among the eight, seven and six year olds.
The girls' categories saw Maryam Mwakitawa emerge the winner among the 15-18 year-olds after scoring 84 gross points, followed by Antonia Mbuthia who scored 88.
Audrey Gachora was the winner among the 13-14 year olds with 81 points and Rohini Shah came second with 88 gross points.
Sophia Nesbitt starred among the 11-12 year-olds having hit 82 gross points. Cherono Kipkorir came in second with 86.
Aria Dodhia was the winner among the 9-10 year old girls with 41 gross points, followed by Kanana Muthomi who managed 42. Wairimu Koi was the champion among the 8 years and under girls’ category with 43 gross points.
NCBA pledged to continue supporting the programme that seeks to unearth Kenya’s next generation of golfers.

The tour which was held during the school holidays featured 8 events that were held at Thika, Windsor, Karen, Muthaiga, Royal, Sigona and VetLab golf clubs.
Over 1300 golfers took part in the series which will see top performers feature in upcoming international junior golf championships including the US kids World Championship.
