Ex-female footballers have been encouraged to take up coaching after their playing careers.

A total of 30 football coaches began their CAF D coaching course at Kariobangi North Primary School, Nairobi.

Among those undertaking the training is Kayole Starlet player Lucy Njeri 

She has a rich football journey starting out at Kariobangi Sports, Old is Gold, Makolanders, Soccer Sisters.

She is aiming to acquire knowledge and skills that she can use to create a new pool of talented footballers and fill the gap for the lack of women coaches, especially in the FKF Women Premier League.

“There’s a gap, especially in the FKF Women Premier League where there is a lack of women coaches, and my aim here, is to acquire as much knowledge as I can and try and help fill in this gap,” said Lucy Njeri.

She continued, “To all women footballers, be  it past or present, the time is now, take up these courses, get the knowledge and skills, and let’s help build the women’s game.”

The course which is being comducted by  Jerim Owuor will run for ten days.
