The chairman of the national assembly committee of sports and Heritage Dan Wanyama, has reiterated the country’s commitment to end the doping menace in Kenyan athletics and sports fraternity at large.

Wanyama who was speaking on Friday night when he graced the 19th Sports personality of the year awards, send a warning to individuals who are behind the runaway doping cases in the country, that they will face the full force of the law.

“I came here to emphasize that don’t be selfish by wanting to win and using mihadarati and endangering the lives of many young men and women. Kenya has no muscles like Russia, if we are banned today be sure that we may be banned forever and it will be the saddest thing to happen to Kenya “said Wanyama

“we have put enough legislation that will hunt both sportsmen and people who sell the drugs to athletes “added Wanyama

Wanyama who is also the Webuye West member parliament called on all sports personalities and stakeholders to embrace clean sports and avoiding doping.



The legislature  assured International Olympic committee and world Athletics that the legislation which has put in place will bring to an end drug cheating in sports.

Wanyama later handed over a report prepared by the ministry of sports arts and culture that was prepared following workshop held in December last year.

World athletics was under immense pressure from international community to ban Kenya from all international athletics events, following the rise in number of doping cases but the country got a sigh of relief after Kenyan government commitment by providing more funds for the fight against the use of enhancing drugs of all forms in sports.
