Senior traffic officer dies in accident along Narok-Bomet Highway

A senior traffic officer was on Monday killed in a road accident that involved two vehicles in Narok county along the Narok-Bomet highway.
Calvin Ochieng Onganda, who served as Narok Deputy Traffic base commander, met his untimely death after his vehicle collided head on with a lorry.
The accident happened at Ratili area about 12 kilometres from  Mulot trading centre.
Narok police commander Riko Ngare said that the accident occurred when the officer  who was driving a Toyota Premio tried overtake a lorry from opposite direction.
“As a result of the impact, both vehicles landed on the right side of the road,” he said.
The body was taken to Longisa County Referral Hospital in Bomet county for preservation awaiting postmortem examinations.
The two vehicles were towed to Ololulunga police station for inspection.
He said that the death of the officer is a big blow to the National Police Service he was a dedicated and hardworking officer.
“The officer will be remembered for the services he offered to the police and Kenyans at large,” Ngare said.
