Several people are feared dead after a grisly road accident at Nithi bridge along Meru – Embu highway, involving a Kensilver bus.

The bus heading to Nairobi overturned after its brakes reportedly failed.

The Sunday incident is not the first to happen at the Nithi Bridge, known to be a major black spot for a long time. It is on a steep gradient covering three km.

The worst accident was in August 2000 after 45 people were killed and at least 27 more injured after a passenger bus crashed into the river.
