Sakaja summoned for failing to appear before Senate over Embakasi gas explosion saga

The Senate Energy Committee has Summoned the Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja for failing to appear before it over the Embakasi Gas Explosion.

The Governor through a regret Letter to the committee said he will be unavailable to appear before the senators because he will be attending a burial ceremony of Embakasi Central MP MajjaDonk Benjamin Gathiru’s Father who died on the 12th of this month-March, The Ceremony is set to take place in Nyeri County.

The members were irked that the Nairobi County Boss sent the letter at 8:15am Thursday stating he will be unavailable.

According to Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna there is a motion before the house seeking to give Senate Powers to arrest Leaders for failing to appear before their committees Concurrently.

The committee has directed the Governor to appear before it Thursday 28th of this month-March.
