KCB racing team driver Evans Kavisi has heightened his preparation for the WRC Safari Rally set to commence June 22nd to 25th 2023 in Naivasha, Nakuru County.

The driver alongside his navigator Absalom Aswani will be looking to turn their fortunes around during this year’s edition of the Safari Rally having retired last year due to engine problems at the power stage in the last stage of the race.

“We are confident that this year will be able to achieve more as compared to last year. We have been working on our car to make sure everything is okay and today’s test is just a gauge of how prepared we are for the rally,” Kavisi said.

On his part, Absalom Aswani, Kavisi’s navigator, noted that they will be the team to watch in the coming competition.

“Last year we were in a better position before we developed mechanical problems which forced us out of the race. We are going all in this time, and I call upon everyone to come out and support the local drivers who will be part of this rally.” Aswani noted.

Evans Kavisi is one of the bank’s sponsored drivers together with Nikhil Sachania and Karan Patel.

Last year, Nikhil Sachania who happens to be the only paraplegic driver in the competition finished position 4 in the KNRC and 18th overall in the WRC racing.

This year, KCB Bank has invested a tune of Kshs. 100 million in the 2023 WRC making it the official sponsor of the rally. The 4-day event has attracted more than 40 entries from drivers worldwide.
