President William Ruto will be meticulous in the choice of next nominees to his cabinet to ensure they are individuals of exceptional competence and integrity, Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs Musalia Mudavadi has said

In a letter to the diplomatic community just a day after the head of state dismissed almost the entirety of his cabinet, Mudavadi reiterated that the President is committed to extending the length and breadth of public participation within the spirit of having a cooperative and diverse governance structure to achieve equity and inclusivity across social status, ages, genders, and communities.

The Foreign Minister said Ruto’s move is aimed at restoring the citizens’ confidence in the integrity of the Cabinet.

“The President has kept his assurance of listening and responding to citizens from the bottom up. The progressive reforms our President has embarked on are geared towards a genuine fulfillment of the citizens’ aspirations that were unmistakably expressed in the past weeks,” he said

The Prime CS confirmed that the President will be engaging in extensive consultations across the board to consolidate a broad-based government.

“The main objective is to fortify national unity, peace, and prosperity while ensuring that the Executive arm of the National Government is further streamlined to reflect the aspirations of the citizens and align with our Administration’s Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda,” he stated

Mudavadi said under the Kenya Kwanza administration, open political and civic space shall only be expanded and made better, and not otherwise.

“Our dedication to advancing democratic principles, constitutionalism, and the rule of law is central to all that we do,” he told the international community
