The Qatar Government has financed the rehabilitation and expansion of a Mosque for Muslim learners at Mount Kenya University in Thika Campus in Kiambu County.
The newly expanded mosque will reduce the overstretch of worshipers and make a conducive environment for leaner’s in the institution.
Speaking during the handover of the mosque to the learning institution, the Ambassador of the state of Qatar to Kenya Mohammed Mutair Al- shamlani Al- Anzi said his country will continue to cooperate with Kenya in various fields that are keen to strengthen the bilateral ties between the two countries.
The mosque boasts of adequate facilitates such as red carpet, a loud speaker system, electricity, water,and contains a full equipped library with Quran books.
Ambassador of the state of Qatar to Kenya Mohammed Mutair Al- shamlani Al- Anzi said his country will continue to cooperate with Kenya in various fields of interest between the two nations.
The diplomat also planted a commemoration tree as he urged Kenyans to back the government’s efforts to green the country. The new Mosque has a capacity of over 1500 worshipers.
