Prime suspect in Mlolongo hairdresser murder in court

The main suspect in the murder Jennifer Mwende,a mlolongo-based hairdresser was today arraigned before a Machakos High Court.

Phyllis Nzula Mbithi, appeared before Judge Victoria Achieng Ochanda but did not take plea.

The court, however, directed for a mental checkup for the suspect to determine if she is fit to stand trial.

The case will be mentioned on November 11.

Phyllis Nzula Mbithi will be detained at the Machakos GK Prisons.

The suspect is believed to have been involved in the murder of the hairdresser with two other suspects.

Everlyn Wanza and Faith Nthemba denied the murder charges and are already in custody at the Machakos GK prisons.

Their case will be heard on November 14.

The trio are accused of killing Mwende by strangling her and dumping her body in a pit latrine in Mlolongo town.
