Chinese President Xi Jinping conveyed his best wishes to the 38th African Union (AU) Summit in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on Saturday, extending warm congratulations to African countries and their peoples.
In his message, Xi noted that the influence of the Global South, represented by China and Africa, continues to grow amidst a complex international landscape marked by significant changes and disorder.
He acknowledged the AU’s efforts in advancing integration, responding to global challenges, and amplifying Africa’s voice.
“Over the past year, the AU has rallied African countries to vigorously promote integration within the continent, stand up to regional and global challenges, and make unified voice of Africa heard,” he stated.
“This has ensured the continuous rise of Africa’s international standing and influence. I sincerely wish African countries and peoples new and even greater success in their independent pursuit of development and revitalization,” he added.
The Chinese leader expressed his readiness to collaborate with African leaders on the joint endeavour to implement six propositions on modernization and ten partnership actions agreed upon during last years Forum on China Africa Cooperation Summit in Beijing, aiming to deliver more tangible benefits to the over 2.8 billion people in China and Africa.
“In 2024, China-Africa relations enjoyed robust growth. The Beijing Summit of FOCAC was successfully held. The two sides have ushered in a new stage of jointly building on all-weather China-Africa Community with a Shared Future for the Mankind,” he stated
