President William Ruto is expected to grace the Turkana Tourism and Cultural Festival at the Ekalees Cultural Center.
The ceremony brings together members of the Ateker community that stretches across Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia and South Sudan.
The festival will also serve as a platform to promote peace among the communities in the county.
Ruto arrived in Turkana County on Wednesday evening and made a brief stop over in Lodwar Town, where he interacted with the residents.
He assured the residents that all stalled projects within the devolved units would be completed in the coming months, citing insecurity as a hinderance to the completion of the projects.
The President said the government will work to ensure peace prevails in the county.
