President William Ruto has broken his silence about the private jet hired for his recent State Visit to the United States.

While defending the decision to charter the plane, the head of state clarified that its cost was far cheaper than other alternatives, including national carrier Kenya Airways (KQ).

“I have noted concerns about my mode of transport to USA. Ruto landed back from the US Saturday after a 4-day state visit, the first to be accorded to an African leader in 16 years.

The President described the trip to US as successful.

“God’s favour was present, real, and evident. Our hosts were generous and considerate. We got what we planned for and more. I thank all Kenyans for the privilege to lead and for prayers, goodwill, and support,” he noted
