President William Ruto has undertaken that his administration will take decisive action to end the recent wave of abductions, a situation that has sparked outrage across the country.

While addressing rising concerns regarding abductions and forced disappearances by unknown individuals, particularly targeting young Kenyans, the head of state reiterated his commitment to ensuring all citizens live in a safe environment free from fear and insecurity.

“Haya mambo ya abductions tutakomesha, ili vijana wa Kenya waweze kuishi kwa amani,” announced Ruto when he attended a football tournament in Homabay County on Friday.

“Vilevile, wawe na nidhamu na wawe wangwana ili tuweze kujenga Kenya tukiwa pamoja,” he added,  even as he called for collective responsibility among citizens, particularly parents and youth to contain the situation

Kila mzazi ashughulikie mtoto wake, na sisi kaka serikali tutafanya sehemu yetu,” he said.

At the same time, the president lauded the decision by his predecessor, Uhuru Kenyatta, and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga to collaborate with him for the country’s improvement.
