Portland Cement announces plans to sell land in Mavoko amidst demolitions

East African Portland Cement (EAPC) has announced plans to sell part of land in Mavoko as ongoing enter fifth day.

In a notice published on Tuesday, EAPC said that priority will be given to the parties currently occupying sections of parcels no.8784/144, 145 and 653. The land will be sold through a regularization model.

“Those in this kind of situation are advised to state their claim of the same within days from the date of this notice,” the statement read in part.

At the expiry of the notice, all unclaimed portions shall be competitively offered to the general public on a willing buyer willing seller basis.

“A site office has been set up and an office for this purpose is also available within EAPC Plc premises along Namanga Road,” EAPC stated.

Meanwhile, more security personnel have been deployed to supervise the ongoing demolitions even as the affected families rush to salvage the little that has been left of their property.
