Papua New Guinea beats Kenya to win  CWC  Challenge league A  in Nairobi

Papua new Guinea won the  ICC CWC Challenge Laegue A after beating Kenya by  a wicket on the final day of the 1st leg of the series at Nairobi Gymkhana.

Kenya was made to bat first  to end up with 258 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 50 overs.

Papua new Guinea made 262 runs for the loss of nine wickets, with 49.3 overs, winning the final with one wicket.

Kenya beat Qatar by three-wickets in the semis  while  Papua New Guinea  beat Kuwait by eight wickets. After the loss,the Shem Ngoche-led side are placed fourth in the ICC Cricket World Cup Challenge 2024/2026 League A table, while Papua new Guinea  are second.

The Kenyan team now shifts focus to the T10 championships which kicks off in two weeks time.
