The Government has distributed over 130,000 bags of fertilizer from its various depots across the country, Principal Secretary State Department for Agriculture Dr. Kipronoh Ronoh Paul has said.
He spoke after touring vital agricultural depots, including the Kitale NCPB, Kenya Seed Company in Trans Nzoia County, Eldoret Depot, and Moisbridge Depot in Uasin Gishu County.
According to the Agriculture PS, the purpose of his tour was to evaluate the ongoing distribution of subsidized fertilizers and seeds to farmers, a cornerstone of strengthening the agricultural sector.
“In alignment with the government’s recent commitment, most depots successfully received fertilizer consignments, distributing over 130,000 bags nationwide. These efforts are aimed at ensuring farmers have uninterrupted access to essential farm inputs during critical planting seasons,” he said.
He noted that collaborative discussions with county leadership have yielded promising strategies to bolster last-mile delivery systems by creating additional distribution points, particularly through cooperative networks.
He added, “Such advancements underscore a collective vision to streamline access and enhance agricultural productivity.”
PS Kipronoh Ronoh was flanked by Kwanza MP Ferdinand Wanyonyi, Kenya Seed Company MD Sammy K. Chepsiror, and other distinguished stakeholders, reflecting a unified commitment to transformative progress within our farming communities.
