Olympics: Team Kenya is ready for the games,PS Tum declares

With just eight days before the Olympic games get underway, Sports Principal secretary Eng.Peter Tum has declared the Kenyan team ready for the games slated for 24th July through to 11th August in Paris,France.

Kenya is set to be represented by a total of 72 athletes featuring in 6 disciplines.Team Kenya is intensifying its preparation in Miramas France ahead of the 33rd Olympic Games.

National Olympic Committee of Kenya president Paul Tergat said the pre-training camp was crucial to the team’s acclimatization ahead of the games.

This year’s team Kenya  representatives despite having a humongous responsibility, they have an opportunity to surpass or replicate the achievement of four years ago.

At the Paris Games, kenya is banking on programmes that have been put in place so to capture some of the events previously dominated by Kenyan athletes but have remained eleusive in recent editions.

Kenya is targeting to shore up its medal tally at this year’s games after clinching four gold,four silver and two bronze.

Kenya is set to be represented by a total of 42 track and field  athletes,2 swimmers,one fencer one judoka,volleyball and rugby.
