Acclaimed Afro-Indie singer Njerae is back to serenade the airwaves with her latest love song, “Nyumbani”, set for release this Friday.

The track, a heartfelt ode to love and belonging, is produced by the renowned Wonda Magik, while the captivating visualizer is directed by the talented King Khassidy.

“Nyumbani,” meaning “home” in Swahili, promises to be a soulful and intimate offering that showcases Njerae venturing into a profound and warm Amapiano sound—a seamless blend of rich Afro-inspired melodies and contemporary indie vibes.

This release is a career boost for the singer who recently hit a major milestone of 100,000 monthly listeners on Spotify, solidifying her place as a rising star in the Kenyan music scene.

Adding to her growing accolades, Njerae has also earned a continental nomination at the prestigious Africa Choice Awards (ACA), set to take place in Lagos, Nigeria on December 8th.

Njerae expressed her excitement about the upcoming release, saying, “‘Nyumbani’ is a song that speaks to the universal longing for love and the comfort of home.

“It is a celebration of connection, and I can’t wait to share it with the world”.

Njerae is a singer, songwriter, and producer from Kenya whose music style is Afro-Indie with a touch of R&B and soul.

She has played at Folk Fusion, Jamhuri Jam Sessions, Gig Dynamics Open House, and several of her own curated events.

Aside from her musical career, Njerae has also obtained a bachelor’s degree in psychology and hopes to one day open a counselling centre where music will be used as a form of therapy.

Her first album Unintentional, produced in 2022, inspired her fans who interpreted it as a girl’s handbook when going through a breakup.

Taking a more significant step toward modern R&B and contemporary Afro-pop sounds, Njerae released her singles “OTD” and “Valhalla” in 2023, opening huge doors for her in the music business.

In 2024, Njerae released her EP, ‘Out with the old,’ on which she collaborated with artists like Watendawili, Lisa Odour, Mbithi and Maali.

In August 2024, she headlined her show and launched the Out With The Old EP, featuring Maali, Mbithi, Hilda Watiri, Analo Kanga, Lisa Oduor-Noah, and The Unit Band marking a major milestone in her career.
