The government is set to roll out the issuance of digital death and birth certificates from 1st March 2023.
Immigration and Citizen Services PS Julius Bitok said the launch of online services will coincide with the introduction of a Unique Personal Identifier (UPI) digital card.
Bitok said the UPI will act as a lifetime ID for newborns and all the services will be accessed through e-citizen.
“The government is moving towards digitizing and making civil registration services online. From 31st of March all registrations of death and birth will be online through the e-citizen. The UPI becomes your number as long as you are alive,” he said
