Speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetangula and his Senate Speaker Amason Kingi in Australia for a parliamentary conference

The Speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetangula and his Senate counterpart Amason Kingi are in Australia on a charm offensive that is expected to see an improvement in parliamentary diplomacy. 

The Speakers held talks with the President of the Australian Senate, Sue Lines on the sidelines of the Conference of Speakers and Presiding Officers of the Commonwealth (CSPOC). 

During a meeting held at the Parliament of Australia, with the Speaker of the House of Commons of Canada Anthony Rota, Wetangula lauded the cordial relations between Kenya and Canada. 

The two Speakers met with Kenyans living in Australia at the Kenyan Embassy and reminded them that the National Assembly has amended its Standing Orders to include the Committee on Diaspora Affairs and Migrant Workers to ensure issues affecting Kenyans in the diaspora are dealt with conclusively.
