Nairobi City Thunder have been pooled in Nile Conference of the Basketball Africa League,BAL which is set to be held from May 17 –25 at BK Arena in Kigali. City Thunder will face off with Al Ahli Tripoli,APR Rwanda and South Africa’s MBB.
The fifth edition of the championship also consists of two other conferences Kalahari and Sahara made up of four teams each.
The Kalahari Conference which will tip off the championship is scheduled April 5th-13th in Rabat,Morrocco.
The Kalahari conference includes Egyptian side Al Itihad,Faith Union Sport of Morocco,Stade Malien of Mali and Nigeria’s Rivers Hoopers.
The Sahara Conference whose matches will be played in Dakar Senegal from April 26th-May 4th will see host club ASC Ville take on Kriol Star of Capeverde,defending champions Petro De Luanda and US Monastir of Tunisia.
Each conference will play a 12-game group phase during which each team will face the other three teams in its conference twice.
Thereafter eight teams from across the three conferences will travel to Pretoria for playoffs and finals scheduled June 6th – 14th.
