Mombasa-based Singer Kizo B, best known for the song “Ulinibeep”, has been released from Shimo La Tewa Prison after spending nearly three weeks in detention.
The musician was held on charges related to a land dispute; he was accused of threatening an individual with a machete, allegations that he has denied.
Following his arrest, the musician took to social media to plead for help from his fans, a move that attracted significant attention, prompting media personality Mzazi Willy M. Tuva, alongside Collins Muraya, to mediate.
Thanking them for their efforts on Wednesday, Kizo B said their belief in him made his release possible.
“Freedom at last! The storm is over, and a new chapter begins. I give all glory to God for seeing me through,” he said. “Thank you to Mzazi Willy Tuva and Collins Muraya—your unwavering support, guidance, and belief in me made this possible. I can’t thank you enough for standing by my side.”
He also he wa ready to move on now that the case had been closed.
“To everyone who played a role in my journey, my girlfriend, asante sana! The case is closed…I’m ready to move forward with purpose, and I appreciate all the love and support as I step into this fresh start.”
